IT Helpdesk Intern

The IT Helpdesk Intern will provide first-level technical support to end-users within the organization. This role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Under the guidance of experienced IT professionals, the intern will gain hands-on experience with IT systems, processes, and tools, while developing technical and interpersonal skills essential for a career in IT support.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT-related inquiries via email, phone, or ticketing systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.
  • Assist in setting up, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Document technical issues and resolutions within the organization's knowledge base.
  • Support software installations, updates, and license management.
  • Monitor and escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support or specialized IT teams.
  • Help maintain IT inventory records, including tracking hardware and software assets.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to employees on IT tools and best practices.
  • Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Eligibility Criteria

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Strong academic performance, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (or equivalent).
    • Availability to commit 20-30 hours per week for a minimum internship period of 3 months.
    • Prior coursework or experience in IT support or related areas is an advantage.
